SELF-INJURY is the intentional hurting of one`s body by oneself, done in a pysical way for the purpose of relief and without suicidal intent.
In the past, self-injury was frequently seen as an attempt to commit suicide, but this isn`t true.
Why do some teens want to hurt themselves?
What you can do?
It is both okay and important to talk about self-injury with someone you trust. Find a safe person you can talk to like a trusted friend, family member, ou counselor. Please see the list or refources for suggestions. If the firsst person wou talk to is not helpful, talk to someone else. If you don`t think you are ready to stop self-injuring, it is still good to talk to someone to have some extra support.
Go to a place where you are least likely to injure yourself. This might be a part of your living space, a certain place at work or school, a gym, coffee shop, friend`s home.

You deserve not to be hurt. You deserve to be happy, to have fun, and to feel all your feelings. And you deserve to love yourself.
